Andrew Cuomo Posts Fake Endorsement as Mayoral Race Nears End

New York, NY (MPN) – Former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is currently running for Mayor of New York City, posted an endorsement from an organization known as the Roosevelt Democratic Club, but further research into this matter, finds that no such group exists.

In the X Post, Cuomo posted a purported statement in which a group known as the Roosevelt Democratic Club, states that the City needs his “experience and proven track record”, a statement that was supposedly uttered by the group’s president, Rosa Sanchez.

While there are Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Clubs, including one in Manhattan, no organization known as the Roosevelt Democratic Club exists, and in reality, the group that is chaired by Rosa Sanchez, is not even an alliance of Democrats, it’s an alliance of people trying to stop the spread of prostitution and other crimes along Roosevelt Avenue.

Last year, Mayor Eric Adams launched “Operation Restore Roosevelt”, which was a 90-day campaign by multiple agencies to crack down on brothels and other Illegal businesses, one that the Mayor touted as a success, but critics say was nothing more than an act of “performative policing”.

Despite this, the organization says the fight is still ongoing, and last Sunday, the organization gathered on the Corner of 90th Street and Roosevelt Avenue to hold a rally for their cause.

While Sanchez has certainly made comments directed at Democratic politicians, most notably Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents this district in Washington, there is no indication that she, or the group has publicly endorsed Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo is currently lagging in the polls behind Zohran Mamdani, who currently holds a double digit lead over both Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, a crime-prevention organization that has operated in New York since 1979.

Early voting began in New York, this weekend, with the main election set for November 4th.
